The Pine Creek Sportsmen’s Club was originally organized on November 13, 1957. Meetings were held in the Sloan Schoolhouse in Rayburn Township. The club disbanded in 1960. On January 2, 1962 it was reorganized. The meetings were held at the Earl Lockhart camp along North Fork Creek.

On March 27, 1962 the club joined the Armstrong County Sportsmen and Conservation League.  In 1965, the Snyderville Sportsmen’s Club merged with the Pine Creek Sportsmen’s Club.

The club purchased an old store building and 18 acres of property in Echo in 1964, about one mile off of Route 66 on what is known as Oscar Road.  After tearing the building down, the club built a new clubhouse.  This clubhouse was used until 1989 when a new 30′ by 90′ building was built at the same location.

The club has an indoor 22 shooting range, and holds 22 shoots on Thursday nights. The shoots start at 8:00 PM. The club also has outdoor shooting ranges. There is a 25 & 50 yard pistol range and a 50 & 100 yard rifle range. The club built a trap range in 1996. Trap shoots are held in the summer months. The club also has an indoor and outdoor archery range.

The club has operated a Co-Operative fish nursery since 1975.  The nursery raises approximately 3000 to 4000 Brook, Brown, Rainbow and Golden trout. The club stocks these trout in Pine Creek and other local trout streams. The club has built, operates, and maintains a physical and mentally challenged, and kids fishing area at Baum Pump Station on North Fork Creek along Route 66.
